Journalism & Advertisement

Before pursuing my journalism I came to know what is difference between journalism and advertisement, inspite both being part of mass communication. Later, while working for TV I was told, “You are not PR na..then don't write like this, it seems that you are advertising..." I grasp these words as it was logical too.

But on 28th of December when I woke up I was amazed to see a column in one of the prominent English newspaper it was not just advertising a site but what it was promoting was new name of porn site Savita Bhabi.com which has been banned. As I earlier read savita bhabhi.com, so I think most of you must have read or at least heard. If neither you have heard nor read then boss I am telling you are really missing something and If you have not read it's your bad luck and you are leaving me with question how its traffic was higher than the Bombay Stock Exchange. Can you imaging more then 2 lakh hits in a single day. For those who have not read savita bhabhi, let me tell you it was our very own Indian outlet for our emotions and love.

But my concern here is something different in this century hardly we have any teen, uncle and never forget aunties who don't know about these porn sites. If you ask a teenage to name few education site they will hardly be able to tell but just ask them about porn site...they will give you list of at least 10-11.

In such a situation catering some new porn site and writing things which can damage future of boys and girls(if there is single child away from these site), I guess is simply against journalism and advertising for these kind of site, unless you are paid for it…is again I guess is not a good deal..matlab boss advertising ka business aap ka chaupat…. Koi aur naukri doon lo…different from Journalism and Advertisement.

Tushar Kant or Tushar Kant “Mishra”

We are taught in our child hood, what is important is work and not the name. We are explained this through many stories...like, we all read the story..."Naam Bada Ya Kaam". I always lived and still believe in this philosophy. But few days back it badly shook when one of my senior in my office who belongs to my birth place told me that if you expect call for interview from different media house then use your surname, as these things matters a lot. I was unable to deny this fact. I was proud being called Tushar Kant and never thought of being called Tushar Kant “Mishra”.
I don't know whether it's wrong or right to add surname. Name and surname which is given to me by my maternal grand-father...he always wish that one day I will attain fame and he believes that I will write my name T Kant....what is the relevance of surname “Mishra” I don't know but what I know that “Mishra” can't give some special talent to me what it can give is the keys to the door in which it might be possible that I will get some calls for interview and any senior of any media house will just give Tushar Kant “Mishra” a job but Tushar Kant will be puzzled and think, why Tushar Kant is jobless.

Fare Is Not Fair

Machines are made to make our work easy, but it does not seems so when one travel in city bus of UP State Road Transport Corp. in Noida. Ticket vending machines used by conductors in UPSRTC most of times becomes reason of argument. One can easily witness the clash between conductor and passengers. Passengers usually negate a computerized ticket giving the reason that fare is not fair. Conductor sticking to his duty with no other option left has to exchange blows and ask a passenger to step out of bus if he thinks fare is not reasonable. But between this the only sufferer along with public is buses of UPSRTC which most of the times run empty
